There's so much to do in the mountains of Evergreen, Colorado — you may not have enough time to do it all. But remember: you can always come back! Here are a few of our favorite activities.
Explore or hike around the property or into the park. Take a snack to the peak and look over Evergreen and Evergreen Lake.
Take a scenic drive on Highway 103 to Mount Evans or over to Georgetown and grab a Beau Jo's pizza.
Drive over to Central City and gamble for a few hours. The buffet at the Lodge is excellent, and we hear great things about the restaurant at the mountain casino across the street.
Drive down to LODO and take a leisurely walk around. Check out the shops and, of course, the restaurants. It's all about the food, isn't it?
Spend a weekend evening Colorado-style by driving over to "The Bucksnort" in Pine. It's very rustic, very mountainous, and very Unpretentious! They have great food, good entertainment, and a lot of character. Be sure to call ahead to ensure they're open.
Visit Downtown Evergreen, wander through the shops, and walk around the Lake. Don't miss the Evergreen Gallery--the owner only displays work from Colorado artists.
Visit Golden, Colorado, and the Coors Brewery. We hear they give out samples.
Drive down Highway 73 from the light in Evergreen to the town of Morrison. It's a beautiful drive, and there are great shops and restaurants waiting there for you! Check out Red Rocks while you're there.
Explore Red Rocks Amphitheatre. It is truly amazing! Don't miss the museum.
If you enjoy shopping at malls, visit Park Meadows Mall at I25 and C470. It has everything you could possibly need, and it's a beautiful mall. The Cheesecake Factory and P.F. Chang's are both there. Can you tell that we like to eat?
Visit the REI Store downtown. It is their hallmark store, and you probably won't see another one with this much inventory.
Check out Bass Pro Outdoor World and other major stores on the east side of I25 off of I70.
Visit Breckenridge! It's only an hour away, and it's our favorite place to ski and snowboard. Even in the summer, there are all kinds of things to do and see there.
Take a drive on Upper Bear Creek Road. Go at night or during the day to take in the amazing homes.
There is a wonderful zoo and aquarium in Denver!
Visit Glenwood Springs. It's a natural hot spring the size of a public pool with fresh hot water running continuously. It's especially outstanding in the winter snow when you can see nothing but steam rising. Sometimes it's impossible to see the person right beside you!
Visit Heritage Square in Golden. There are zip lines, alpine slides, a variety of rides, go-karts, boats, and so much more.
Take your furry friends to the Elk Meadow Off-Leash Dog Park featuring over three miles of trails to share with your dogs.
